Network Engineer
The following position is required for on-site installation and support of LAN and WAN networking technologies for a customer located in Southeastern US. Required skills are necessary to configure networking hardware and software to meet client business needs and document the solution for ongoing support, including technical standards and operational procedures. This role will function as part of a network support team in regards to incident, change and problem management. The Senior Network Engineer may also provide technical support to the project team as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide level 2/3 support to resolve data networking problems within the enterprise environment.
* Perform analysis of LAN/WAN environment and resolve issues accordingly
* Participate in technical projects involving LAN/WAN's implementation.
* Evaluate LAN/WAN hardware and software requirements and provide recommendations.
* Respond to service requests from Level 1 support
* Maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
* Provide on-going network component (router, switch, and firewall) configurations changes as required
* Delegates tasks and project related work to associate level team members.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide team leadership
* Focus the team on tasks at hand or internal and external requirements
* Communicate team status, task accomplishment and direction.
* Have experience in operations
* Have at least three years experience in above skill set
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 5-7 years experience in Networking.
* CCNP level or similar required.
* Strong background in Cisco WLAN configuration § Aironet 1140/1250 § Mobility Services Engine (MSE) § Network Access Control (NAC) § Wireless Services Module (WSM)
* Strong background in wireless authentication methods, 802.11g/n, and wireless encryption methods
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Technical and Non-Technical)
* Extremely `Detail Oriented` individual with the ability to multi task
* Strong `hands-on` experience with Cisco Routers and Switches
* Experience with configuration and operation of network services (DNS, Load Balancing, Proxy, NAT)
* Working knowledge of OSPF and BGP
* Strong knowledge of VLAN, Spanning Tree and VTP design, operation and troubleshooting
* Experience with Gigabit Ethernet technology
* Experience with campus switching topology
* Hands On experience with firewall technologies (Cisco Catalyst FWSM)
* Hands On experience with VPN Technologies, (LAN to LAN, IPSec Client and SSL VPN)
* `Hand-on` experience with operation and analysis of packet and protocol analyzer.
* Experience in Cisco VOIP technology desirable
* Working Knowledge in the following software packages, MS Visio, MS Project and MS Office Suite.
EDUCATION:
§ Completion of a Bachelor's degree with course work in computer science, or equivalent work experience § CCNA/Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
